Trinity Homecare have participated in a number of events this week as part of dementia awareness week.
Dementia Awareness Week takes place in May every year and is run by Alzheimer’s Society – the UK’s leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.
What is dementia? Dementia is the name for a collection of symptoms that include memory loss, mood changes and problems with communication and reasoning. These symptoms are brought about by a number of diseases that cause changes in the brain. The most common of these is Alzheimer’s disease. During Dementia Awareness Week several of Trinity Homecares team have made contact with Dementia Navigators from Alzheimer’s Society throughout drop-in sessions in Surrey.
Our director, Mike Smith also participated at The Prime Minister’s Subgroup on Dementia and Homecare meeting at the Department of Health.
