Rising to the challenge – One million dementia friends

On 21 February the Prime Minister announced that the ambition of achieving one million Dementia Friends by March 2015 had been exceeded.  He also launched his Challenge on Dementia 2020, which sets a bold ambition that by 2020 England is the best country in the world for dementia care and support for people with dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Mike Smith, Managing Director of Trinity Homecare “I am delighted that Trinity Homecare has contributed to the Dementia Challenge and features in the final report.  Our aim is to make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of those affected by dementia at all levels within our organisation.  We know that the majority of people with dementia wish to remain within the comfort of their own home and avoid the upheaval, stress and change associated with moving into residential or nursing care.  Our range of services from hourly care to full time live-in care provide a real alternative to care homes which are still all too often considered as the first and only option for people with dementia.  We are committed to raising the profile of homecare and live-in care for people with dementia.”
