Important: Homecare - A safe option during COVID-19

Recognising the Trinity Homecare values

Our first Trinity Homecare Values Awards held last week were a great success.  As Managing Director Mike Smith puts it:

“The awards are a way for us to remind ourselves of our values and to acknowledge the fact that we try and make a difference to our clients’ lives every single day. It’s also a way to say a big thank you to everybody in the team for all their hard work.”

During February we asked all our clients to nominate a carer and our colleagues to nominate a team member who most represented the Trinity Homecare values: personal, trusted and caring.

“The feedback has been both heartfelt and generous and it has been wonderful to see some of the fantastic comments about our team,” says Mike. “There were an overwhelming number of nominations – 325 to be exact, but sadly we could only choose two overall winners, with 13 Special Recognition Awards.”

The winners along side some of their nominated comments are listed below, but one of our favourites was for senior carer Pam Hatley, whose client not only wrote at length about how much trust she places in her but also added: “If you do not choose (her), I am going to go to another agency!” Well, luckily, for us, there were many other clients who felt the same way about Pam, so she did win one of our Special Recognition Awards.

As Mike explained, many people had been nominated several times, making it very difficult to choose the two overall winners and both Elmare Harper and Faith Langley, were surprised and delighted to have won. As Elmare, one of our hourly care workers and a fully qualified nurse, says: “It is lovely to be recognised, as in this job you are on your own a lot of the time, so to have that kind of feedback from those you care for means a lot.”

Care worker John MacKay, who won the Client Nominations Values Award for Trusted, was also delighted to have won, saying: “It’s the clients that make this job easy.  For me it’s all about the relationships that I build with the people I care for. It’s a genuine privilege to look after people in their own home.”

As Trinity’s Head of Operations, Derek Brougham, puts it: “It’s been a wonderful experience to read some of the fantastic stories that our clients have told us about our team. Today is a chance to celebrate that.”

From all of us at Trinity, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved.
