In recognition of International Men’s Day we wanted to shine a light on the amazing male carers that work at Trinity Homecare and uncover why they chose and love working in care.
Here’s Jamil’s story:
Jamil has been working in care for over 28 years and has progressed his career through training opportunities. Starting his career as a Domestic Assistant, he soon learnt that he wanted to be able to provide clients with a more fulfilling and specialist support package.
Through training Jamil progressed to become a Nursing Assistant.
Jamil is a dedicated live-in carer at Trinity and takes pride and passion into the support he provides. Having recently shared some delicious photos of the meals he prepares; his food has made a positive impact on his client.
He explains,
“When I went on holiday for 4 weeks, unfortunately his client stopped eating and became bedbound again. He was being fed a blended diet and there were concerns from his care team that he may not pull through. However, upon my return I was able to improve his condition and slowly supported him with eating small but regular meals. My manager was shocked to see him reach out for grapes that I was holding. I then started to introduce new foods to his diet, and soon enough he was eating a wide variety. I even had the chance to take him out for his birthday with a friend. I like to think I have a special relationship with all my clients. I really do enjoy making a difference to their lives.”
It is amazing the difference a carer who understands their client has in someone’s life. If you are passionate about caring for others and would like to pursue a career in care, please contact our Recruitment team on 0333 1882 415
