Mark was born with cerebral palsy, and as his mum explains, life hasn’t always been easy. There have been tough times along the way, but one thing has always been clear: cerebral palsy has never held Mark back.
“Mark is such a character,” his mum says with pride. “He’s his own person.”
From an early age, Mark’s parents focused on one goal above all else: helping him live as independently as possible, while enjoying life to the fullest. They wanted Mark to have opportunities, freedom and the confidence to be himself, not defined by his disability, but supported in a way that allowed him to thrive.
A determined spirit
Mark has always had a strong personality and an adventurous streak. When he was younger, he joined the Air Training Corps, taking part in activities that pushed him beyond what many would expect. One of his proudest achievements was completing a parachute jump for charity a moment that perfectly captured Mark’s determination and courage.
Mark’s mum reflects that he’s always been someone who wants to be involved, to try new things and to live life on his own terms.
The search for the right care
Over the years, Mark and his family worked with a number of care providers. Like many families, they faced challenges finding the right fit, care that wasn’t just practical, but truly supportive, consistent and delivered with genuine understanding.
Eventually, they found Trinity.
From the beginning, Mark’s mum noticed a difference.
She describes Trinity’s care as being “over and above”, explaining that it wasn’t simply about completing tasks, it was about building trust, respecting Mark as an individual and ensuring he felt comfortable and valued in his own home.
A huge part of what made Trinity’s support so successful was the consistency of care.
Sophie, Mark’s visiting carer, has been supporting him for the past two years and she’s been with him throughout that time.
“He’s been with Trinity for two years, and I’ve cared for him the whole time,” she says. “We got on like a house on fire from the moment we met.”
Their relationship is full of laughter, humour and easy conversation, something Mark deeply appreciates.
Mark says the carers have become like the family he always wished he had.
“They’re like the little and big sisters I always wanted,” he shares.
Helping Mark come out of his shell
Before Trinity began supporting him, Mark admits he was naturally introverted and often wary when new carers were introduced. Like many people who rely on care, building trust wasn’t always immediate and the uncertainty of unfamiliar faces could be unsettling.
But with Trinity, something changed.
His family noticed that almost overnight, Mark became more relaxed and confident. The calm, friendly and professional approach of Trinity’s carers helped him feel at ease, allowing him to open up and build strong, positive relationships.
Mark’s mum says Trinity’s support has had a clear impact on his wellbeing and confidence, helping him feel more comfortable being himself and engaging more fully with the people around him.
Living life with confidence
Today, Mark continues to enjoy life with greater confidence and independence, supported by carers who understand him, respect his individuality and genuinely enjoy spending time with him.
For Mark and his family, Trinity isn’t simply another care provider. Trinity has become a reliable part of Mark’s life, offering support that goes beyond care and helping Mark live with dignity, joy and connection.
