Recently, Rebecca Walton, Care Manager at our Worcester Park branch, showed that care is not simply a job. It is a value that stays with you wherever you are.
While working from home, Rebecca heard someone outside calling for help. On investigating, she discovered that her elderly neighbour had fallen inside her home and was unable to get up. Unable to access the property, Rebecca spoke to her neighbour through a window, reassuring her and keeping her calm while assessing the situation.
Knowing urgent help was needed, Rebecca contacted 999 and clearly explained the circumstances to emergency services. She stayed with her neighbour throughout, offering comfort, reassurance and a reassuring presence until help arrived.
Thanks to Rebecca’s quick thinking and compassionate actions, her neighbour received the support she needed at a time when she was at her most vulnerable.
This is more than a story about responding to an emergency. It is a reminder of the incredible people we have across Trinity Homecare. Every day, our teams make a difference in the lives of others, often in ways that go unseen. Rebecca’s actions demonstrate the values we speak about every day: kindness, compassion, courage and a commitment to doing the right thing.
Her actions also embody our “Never Off Duty” ethos. Caring does not switch off at the end of a shift. For many of us, it is part of who we are.
Stories like this inspire us all. They remind us that a few moments of compassion can change someone’s day and in some cases, change their life.
Rebecca, thank you for stepping forward when someone needed you most. Your calmness, professionalism and kindness are a credit to yourself, the Worcester Park team, and Trinity Homecare as a whole.
Please join us in congratulating Rebecca on an outstanding act of compassion and for showing the very best of what it means to care.
Well done, Rebecca. We are incredibly proud of you.
