We are thrilled to share the news of a memorable evening at the Surrey Care Awards 2023, held at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, where Trinity Homecare‘s very own Angela Pritchard shone brightly, winning the Family Engagement Champion Award.
The event was attended by many of Surrey’s care providers and was a delightful blend of humour and heartfelt stories. Attending with Angela on the night were her colleagues from Trinity Homecare Group, Laura Bridges, Mano Joshi, and Nicola Waghorn. Hosted by the renowned comedian and presenter Judi Love, who shared her own touching experiences as a social worker and supporting her own mother who lived with dementia, the atmosphere was both light-hearted and deeply meaningful.
Angela’s journey to this achievement is nothing short of inspiring. Joining Trinity Homecare in 2016, she brought with her over two decades of experience in social and home care. Her dedication to enhancing dementia care and family engagement at Trinity Homecare has been evident through her various initiatives. After attending the Homecare Association’s Dementia Train the Trainer course in 2017, Angela became a Dementia Ambassador through the Alzheimer’s Society. She played a pivotal role in positioning Trinity Homecare as a dementia-friendly organization, imparting her knowledge to over 200 carers.
Moreover, Angela’s passion extended beyond client care, focusing significantly on family support. She was instrumental in developing and presenting ‘Understanding Dementia Seminars’, both online and in-person, which were met with resounding positive feedback. Her efforts align with Trinity Homecare’s commitment to enhancing awareness about dementia, challenging stereotypes, and promoting a positive approach to living with dementia.
Upon receiving the award, Angela expressed her heartfelt gratitude:
“After dedicating over 30 years to the care sector, this award marks a significant milestone in my journey. This achievement has given a sense of recognition, not just to me, but to the team at Trinity who have supported me through my progress. Engaging with carers, clients, and families, and spreading awareness about dementia has been a profoundly rewarding and amazing experience.”
This accolade is not just a recognition of Angela’s individual efforts but also reflects the ethos of Trinity Homecare – a commitment to excellence, compassion, and making a real difference in the lives of those living with dementia.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Angela and her team for this well-deserved honour. Their dedication and hard work are what make Trinity Homecare a leader in providing high-quality care and support. This achievement at the Surrey Care Awards is a proud moment for all of us and a reminder of the impact we can make in the lives of those we care for.
