On 1st August, Trinity Homecare had the privilege of attending Brighton Pride 2026, a day filled with colour, celebration, connection and an incredibly strong sense of community.
As we reflect on such a special day, it is clear that Brighton Pride was about much more than a single event. It was an opportunity to come together with colleagues, organisations and individuals from across the adult social care sector and celebrate the diversity that makes our communities stronger.
What Brighton Pride meant to us
Brighton Pride is a celebration of identity, individuality and the freedom to be yourself. For Trinity Homecare, being part of the day was also a reminder of the importance of creating environments where everyone feels respected, valued and able to be themselves.
In adult social care, we support people from all walks of life, each with their own experiences, identities, relationships, beliefs and personal histories. Truly person-centred care means recognising and respecting those differences not simply providing care based on someone’s practical needs, but understanding the person behind them.
Pride provides a powerful reminder that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard and included.
Diversity and inclusion in adult social care
Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.
For the people receiving care, inclusion means being able to live their lives with dignity and without fear of judgement. It means having their preferences, relationships, identity and individuality respected as part of the care they receive.
For care professionals, it means creating workplaces where people from different backgrounds and with different experiences feel that they belong.
An inclusive care environment benefits everyone. When people feel comfortable being themselves, they are more likely to build trusting relationships, something that is at the heart of outstanding care.
Coming together as a sector
One of the most powerful aspects of Brighton Pride was seeing people from across adult social care coming together.
Care can sometimes be viewed through the lens of individual organisations, services or roles. Events like Pride provide an opportunity to step back from those individual responsibilities and recognise the wider community we are all part of.
Whether working directly with people receiving care, supporting families, leading care teams or developing services, we all have a role to play in creating a more inclusive sector.
Coming together allows us to share experiences, learn from one another and strengthen our collective commitment to ensuring that adult social care is a place where everyone can belong.
Raising awareness and recognising diversity across our sector
Being part of Brighton Pride was also an important opportunity for Trinity Homecare to raise awareness of the organisation and connect with people and organisations across the adult social care sector.
Events like this provide valuable opportunities to build relationships, increase brand recognition and strengthen Trinity Homecare’s presence within the wider care community. More importantly, they allow us to demonstrate through our actions that diversity, inclusion and belonging are important parts of the sector we want to contribute to.
By coming together at Brighton Pride, Trinity Homecare was able to recognise and celebrate the diversity of the people who work within, receive and support adult social care, while encouraging conversations about how we can continue to create a sector where everyone feels respected, represented and included.
For Trinity Homecare, being visible at events that champion inclusion is an important part of building stronger connections with the communities we serve and the wider care sector.

We may have different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, but we are united by a shared purpose: supporting people to live fulfilling lives with dignity, independence and choice.
Diversity does not divide us. It strengthens the care we provide by bringing different perspectives, experiences and ideas together.
Brighton Pride was a celebration of that diversity but the message should extend far beyond one day.
At Trinity Homecare, inclusion is something that should be reflected in everyday interactions: in the way care is delivered, in the way colleagues support one another, and in the way every individual is treated.
As we look back on Brighton Pride 2026, we are grateful to have been part of a day that brought people together, celebrated individuality and highlighted the importance of belonging.
